Snowmobile crash injures one; alcohol may have been involved

Alcohol may have been a factor in a snowmobile accident early this morning in Schoolcraft County. According to the St. Ignace Post of the Michigan State Police, it happened in Hiawatha Township near M–94 at around 2:30 a.m.

Troopers say a 41–year–old Sault Ste. Marie man lost control of his sled and hit a tree at high speed.  He sustained injuries to his arms and ribs. He was treated and released from Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital.

An investigation is continuing.
