RICHMOND TOWNSHIP — Slippery roads in central Marquette County led to a single–vehicle rollover accident Monday morning.

Deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene on M–35 around 7:30 a.m. The driver of a white Chevrolet Equinox, forty seven year old Michael Ashby, lost control on the road near County Road MT, landing on the vehicle’s driver’s side in the northbound ditch. The vehicle appeared to have damage on the side where it came to rest.

Ashby was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. He was reported at fault in the crash for speed too fast for conditions. Police say Richmond Township Fire and EMS responded to the scene to check on the lone occupant of the vehicle, but Ashby ended up seeking his own treatment.
