SAULT STE MARIE — Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team Detectives arrested six people today in Chippewa County.

The suspects were arrested for illegal distribution of prescription medication and marijuana. There were two female suspects and four male, ranging in age from 28 to 68. They face a total of twenty charges including delivery of a controlled substance, maintaining a drug house, delivery of a controlled substance on school property, and delivery or manufacture of marijuana.

UPSET Detectives executed a search warrant and were able to identify illegal drug proceeds deposited in various bank accounts totaling over $12,000. Over $750 cash was also seized.

The suspects are being lodged at the Chippewa County Jail. Names will be released after arraignment.
