UPDATE: Ontonagon County drug bust suspects’ names released

The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department has released the suspects’ names.

Steven Paul Thompson, 31, of Gwinn is charged with delivery or manufacture of bath salts with ‘habitual offender, fourth offense’ status attached. He’s in jail on $5,000 bond. Thompson is pictured in the top left corner of the image on this page.

Craig Gilson Scott, 49, of Ontonagon is accused of delivery or manufacture of bath salts. He’s being held on $750 bond. Scott is shown in the center position of the bottom row.

Clinton DeWayne Roberts, 29, of Mass City is facing one count of delivery or manufacture of a schedule 4 controlled substance and three counts of delivery or manufacture of marijuana. He’s jailed on $4,000 bond. Roberts is shown in the bottom left position.

Joseph Bruce Bittner, 49, of Ontonagon is charged with delivery or manufacture of bath salts and delivery or manufacture of marijuana. His bond is set at $3,000. Bittner is pictured in the center position of the top row.

Rhonda Lee Heikkinen, 36, of Rockland is accused of delivery or manufacture of methadone and delivery or manufacture of hydrocodone. She’s in jail on $2,000 bond. Heikkinen is in the top right corner.

Thresa Marie Onnela, 50, of Ontonagon is facing a charge of delivery or manufacture of Vicodin. Her bond is $750. Onnela is in the bottom right corner.

The six suspects all have a probable cause hearing scheduled for January 16th and a preliminary exam for January 23rd.


ONTONAGON COUNTY — Six people have been arrested following a months long narcotics investigation in Ontonagon County.

Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team officials say they arrested the six suspects on 11 felony counts relating to the sale and distribution of narcotics Thursday. UPSET detectives made the arrests along with deputies from the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department and troopers from the Wakefield Post and 8th District Hometown Security Team of the Michigan State Police.

The counts include four counts for delivery of marijuana, one for delivery of hydrocodone, two for delivery of bath salts, and one each for delivery of oxycodone, vicodin, clonazepam, and methadone.

The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department also aided in the investigation.

The suspects’ names are being withheld pending arraignment.
