Simon resigns as Stephenson basketball coach

The Stephenson High School girls varsity basketball team is looking for a head coach, after Mark Simon resigned on Monday.

In his lone season in charge of the Eagles, Simon guided Stephenson to a 20-3 record. The Eagles won a district championship in 2014. Simon told ABC 10 Sports that his job prevented him from giving the program 100 percent of his attention.

Stephenson finished the regular season 17-2. The Eagles fell in the Class ‘D’ regional semifinals to Superior Central. Simon leaves a team that returns 10 players next season.
