Shopko Hometown Help Us Give Back program ends soon

There are just four days left if you want to help Shopko Hometown stores give back to their local school districts. The Help Us Give Back program ends on Christmas Eve.

The six Shopko Hometown stores in the U.P. are busy collecting signatures from customers. For each signature a store collects, the Shopko Hometown Foundation will donate $1 to the school district in which the store is located.

The tally of signatures so far: Ishpeming is close to reaching the halfway mark, with a little more than 900 signatures. The Iron River store has about 1,000 so far.

Calumet is going strong with about 1,300. Manistique has 1,600.

The L’Anse store is getting close to the $2,000 donation limit per store; employees there have collected 1,700 signatures. Wetmore employees say that with 1,962 signatures in hand, they’re just 38 away from the goal.

The Help Us Give Back program is free of charge, and no purchase or donation is required.
