Sex offender accused of abusing disabled victim facing more charges

SAULT STE. MARIE — New charges have been brought against a Drummond Island man accused of criminal sexual assault charges involving a victim who is confined to a wheelchair.

James Shaul, 35, is facing three new charges: fourth degree CSC involving an incapacitated victim, failing to register as a sex offender, and being a sex offender in a school safety zone.  Police say the victim Shaul and Melissa Greiser, 30, allegedly abused is disabled with limited mobility.

Shaul’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 7 in Chippewa County Circuit Court; Greiser will appear in District Court September 18.
