Sewer rate hike in Hancock

Sewer use charges for Hancock residents could be going up now that the Hancock City Council has proposed raising the rate from $6.35 to $7.35 per 1000 gallons of water metered.

The rate increase would begin with the March utility billing.

Hancock city manager Glenn Anderson says the change would cost the average customer about $4.00 a month.

A public hearing on the proposal will take place on April 17th prior to the next regular meeting of the council.  The council will then vote on the proposal at that meeting.
