Setting up for Art on the Rocks

Vendors were braving the rain Friday to prep their booths for a popular art show.

Art on the Rocks is full of vendors at Mattson Lower Harbor in Marquette all weekend.  It is the 55th year for Art on the Rocks, with close to 200 vendors participating.  They will be selling paintings, jewelry, glass, and much more.

“People bring jewelry, clay, sculpture…a variety of art,” Ronna Katz said.  She splits her time between Marquette and Albuquerque, New Mexico and is selling her paintings at the art show.  “The beauty is the variety.  You have a little bit of people bringing their studio, their galleries to this one location.”

“We recommend that you bring a list of some future gifts you might be thinking about for future birthdays or holiday gifts, maybe some weddings that are coming up or anniversaries.  It’s a great place to shop for gifts.”

Art on the Rocks starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and runs until 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
