September trial for sex abuse suspect
The case against a Wisconsin man charged with child sex abuse in Houghton County is headed to trial.
Twenty-six-year-old Chad Lapointe appeared in Houghton County Circuit Court for a pretrial.
Lapointe is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim under 13 years old, fourth-degree CSC with a victim 13 to 16 years old and two counts of accosting a child for immoral purposes.
The incidents involve the same victim at different ages.
Lapointe has pleaded not guilty to all charges. If convicted, he could get 15 years in prison.
The trial will be held in September.
