Seney Wildfire may close M-28

Due to the approaching wildfire at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, the Michigan Department of Transportation says it may need to close M-28 between Shingleton and Seney.

The 1,500-acre wildfire in the Seney Wildlife Refuge has advanced to within three miles of the highway. MDOT will consult with fire personnel from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources on the fire’s progress, and will close the highway if necessary to protect motorists and emergency crews.
