ISHPEMING — An Ishpeming man will be sentenced in Marquette County District Court in January after pleading guilty to a larceny-related charge.

Scott Martin, 40, will be sentenced in Ishpeming on January 14.  He pleaded guilty last month to larceny by conversion, which is a misdemeanor.

Martin will receive a delay of sentence, which means that once he completes a probation period, the charge will be dismissed.  He will also have to pay restitution.

Martin created and sold T-shirts through his company, Martin Sports Apparel, in memory of Ishpeming teenager Christopher “Bubba” Croley, who died in 2012 when his family’s vehicle was hit by a drunk driver.  Witnesses testified during earlier court proceedings that for every T-shirt sold, $10 would go to the Croley family.
