ABC 10 Sports has learned that  Northern Michigan University quarterback Cody Scepaniak will likely miss the rest of the season with a lower body injury. Scepaniak was injured against Ashland on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Scepaniak appeared to injure his right ankle on a 4-yard run up the middle in the first quarter. After halftime, Scepaniak was on the NMU sideline in street clothes and on crutches.

In three games this season, Scepaniak completed 55 of his 87 pass attempts for 735 yards.  With the injury to Scepaniak, the Wildcats have two healthy quarterbacks on the roster- junior Dustin Thomas and freshman Shaye Brown.

Sophomore quarterback Ryan Morley is still recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered last season. Morley will not be ready to play again for the Wildcats until next season.

NMU plays at home this Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m., against the Hillsdale Chargers.
