Sadowski back in court
MARQUETTE — A 45–year–old man who was convicted two years ago of several felonies, including solicitation of murder and torture appeared back in court today.
Jason Sadowski was in Marquette County Circuit Court for a hearing regarding the defendant’s motion to compel discovery and other related matters. Sadowski was convicted in 2014 of two counts of torture, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, and also convicted by himself of solicitation of murder and two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. In late 2015, the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Sadowski, prompting a new trial.
“The way I look at it we’re starting anew,” said Tony Ruiz with Superior Law, PLLC, “Mr. Sadowski had his first trial for the reasons stated by the court of appeals it was vacated or remanded so to me we’re back to square one which means to gather what we currently have and continue to look for more in his defense.”
In 2014, Sadowski was defended by Timothy Quinnell. Tony Ruiz will be representing Sadowski for his new trial which is scheduled for five days beginning on September 19th.
