Ruling Awaited on Gwinn Farm

The judge who heard the case between Forsyth Township and the owners of Shady Grove Farm has not issued a ruling yet.

The two parties have been arguing over zoning regulations.

Randy and Libby Buchler live off of earnings from their six-and-a-half-acre farm in Gwinn where they sell eggs from the chickens and wool products from the sheep.

They say their farm is protected from zoning regulations by the Michigan Right to Farm Act.

Forsyth Township says otherwise.

According to Circuit Judge Thomas Solka’s office, a decision in the case will not be released for at least another week.
