A Calumet man is in the hospital tonight following a rollover accident early this morning in Keweenaw County.

22-year-old Charles Huhta was heading north on M–26 near Copper Harbor at about 4 am when he lost control of his Chevy Suburban on a curve.

Huhta’s vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment and rolled several times.

He was treated at the scene and was then taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium, where his current condition is unknown.

The accident remains under investigation, but police say that alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.
