MARQUETTE — A woman is in trouble with the law after police say crashed her car under the influence of alcohol.

Just after 9 p.m. Friday, the Marquette City Police Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident on West Fair Ave. near Presque Isle Ave.  When police arrived on scene, they found that a 54-year-old woman had attempted to make a left turn onto West Fair Ave., when she struck a light pole, which caused her car to rollover.

According to police, the woman was the lone occupant in the vehicle. She was transported to UP Health System – Marquette for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The woman was then arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and lodged at the Marquette County Jail. Her name will not be released until she’s arraigned.
