Rockland man facing assault charges pleads insanity

A Rockland man will be undergoing treatment after pleading not guilty be reason of insanity.

John Cribb, 40, was facing a number of charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and killing or torturing an animal.

In Ontonagon County Circuit Court Wednesday, the judge accepted Cribb’s plea.  The Ontonagon County Prosecutor’s Office said Cribb will be sent to a forensics facility to undergo treatment for no more than 60 days.

Cribb was arrested by police in January his wife called 911 reporting she was hiding from her husband after he allegedly threatened her with a gun and hurt the family’s dog.
