Risk of running across discarded meth components increases during hunting season

CALUMET — With hunting season upon us, Michigan State Police troopers from the Calumet Post would like to remind the public of the hazards of left over meth lab components.

Dump sites related to illegal meth manufacture are commonly found in wooded areas, campsites, and two track roads. People should be cautious of any suspicious materials such as solvent containers, drain cleaners, fuel cans, coffee filters, cold packs, lithium batteries, bottles with sludge in them, or bottles with plastic tubing attached.

If anyone finds substances related to meth labs, leave them where they are and call 911. If you have any questions about meth dump sites, feel free to call the Michigan State Police Calumet Post at 906-337-5145
