“RISE U.P. for Youth” event Friday in Marquette
More than 170 people across the Upper Peninsula gathered today to discuss what is currently happening in the youth environment.
The “RISE U.P. for Youth Convening” is the first U.P. wide event of its kind.
The eight hour conference focused on ideas and strategies on how Upper Michigan can best support the youth.
It also involved sessions on how adults and leaders can help young people succeed in life.
The event featured a special guest speaker who personally overcame his odds in his youth, and discussed the importance of building relationships with the younger generation.
Great Lakes Center for Youth Development has been working to gather the community to support youth for two decades.
The group is looking to hold another convening in two years.
