Restaurant hit by vehicle in Escanaba

A restaurant in Delta County was heavily damaged when a vehicle ran into it Tuesday afternoon. Escanaba Public Safety says it happened just before 2:00 p.m. at the Hardee’s Restaurant on North Lincoln Road.

Officers say an out of state vehicle was traveling southbound on North Lincoln Rd., crossed the center line and struck the rear of a northbound vehicle. The out of state vehicle continued southbound over the curb striking a light pole and then hit the drive through window of the Hardees Restaurant. The vehicle and restaurant both sustained heavy damage in the accident.

The driver of the vehicle and an employee of Hardees were transported to the hospital by Rampart EMS. The accident is still under investigation.
