LANSING — A number of bills aimed at improving access to renewable energy sources have now been introduced in the State House of Representatives.

Representatives Scott Dianda and Ed McBroom were among those co–sponsoring House Bills 4878 through 4881. The bills would add a provision to current Michigan law defining community renewable energy systems. They would also establish rules for net metering, allowing electrical customers to retain a credit at their retail rate for power delivered back to the grid from renewable energy sources.

The bills have been sent to the Committee on Energy Policy for their consideration.
