Recreation Committee Taking Shape

Four Marquette County communities are a step closer to forming a regional recreation authority.

The members of an AD–HOC recreation committee will go to the Marquette City Commission, and their respective township boards.

Within 18 months, the members will come back with a business plan on how the regional authority should go forward.

A city commissioner says 85% of the people keeping boats at Presque Isle Marina live outside the city.

He wonders how Marquette’s marinas will fit in, since they cost the city money.
