CLEVELAND, Ohio — A mining operation in Minnesota that was shut down last year will be back up and running this spring.
Cliffs Natural Resources announced that iron ore pellet production will be restarting at the Northshore Mining operation by May 15th. Officials say they’re reopening the operation based on domestic demand and previously announced production plans for the year.
Northshore employs over five hundred people. Cliffs is also operating at normal rates at the Hibbing Taconite mine in Minnesota and the Tilden and Empire mines here in the U.P.
