Probation for Doctor in Drug House Case

A doctor from Gladstone will spend the next year on probation for trying to maintain a drug house.

48-year-old Erik Rubright pleaded no contest to that misdemeanor charge last month.

He’ll also work 250 hours of community service.

State police say Rubright knew for many years that his wife was using and selling drugs in their home and did nothing to stop her.

The drugs included cocaine, morphine and prescription medications.

Rubright’s defense lawyer says his client should have been more vigilant about his wife’s behavior.

His wife is in prison at the moment for unarmed robbery and attempted extortion from an unrelated case.

Rubright works for OSF Medical Group.

He was put on administrative leave for a while but has returned to work.
