Preparing for the primary

MARQUETTE — It’s less than one month from Tuesday, March 8th, Michigan’s Presidential Primary.

The main objective is part of the nominating process for the upcoming presidential election. Voters in Forsyth Township will have a millage on their ballot as well. Voter registration is closed, but Marquette County Clerk Linda Talsma would like to pass along some information to help those who are registered to vote at the polls.

“Your first thing you can do is go to michigan.gov/vote,” said Marquette County Clerk Linda Talsma, “or you can call my office (906) 225–8330. We’re happy to look to see if you’re a registered voter for this election and we would tell you where to go to vote, which polling location. When you go to the polling location, please bring your identification card with you.”

Voters do not need to be a registered Republican or Democrat to participate, however a party ballot must be selected. This requirement is only applied for Presidential Primary elections. You can find additional information on sample ballots, registration information, click here.
