Lullskull Limited released a teaser Friday of their upcoming film Northstar, which was shot in the Iron Mountain area over the winter.

The three men behind the film have been developing the project for the past five years out in L.A.

Two of the producers decided that the best place to shoot an end of the world survival story was right in the backyard of their hometown–Iron Mountain.

Northstar is set in a post-apocalyptic world after a disastrous event wipes out most of the earth’s population and follows a group of survivors.  Co-writer and director Seth Anderson said there were many influences for the film, but it’s mainly a cross between John Carpenter’s early action movies and Stephen King’s supernatural novels.

Production is expected to continue next winter in Iron Mountain and near Gwinn at K.I. Sawyer.
