IRON MOUNTAIN — While residents are gearing up for their Independence Day celebrations, police are reminding citizens about fireworks rules within the City of Iron Mountain.

Iron Mountain Police say that the city has an ordinance prohibiting many fireworks within the city limits. Any fireworks that fly or explode and would likely cause a disturbance are prohibited year–round, except the day before, the day of, or the day after a national holiday.

Failure to follow the ordinance could result in a fine ranging from $50 to $500 depending on the number of offenses.
