Police investigating arson
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post are asking for information about a recent fire. The blaze destroyed an outhouse at the Clark Creek Boat Launch located on Red Road (County Road GGT) in Ishpeming Township.
Fire destroyed the outhouse sometime between last Sunday evening
(09/02/2012) and early Monday morning (09/03/2012). The outhouse was a
portable type structure, which was positioned adjacent to the boat launch
parking lot area. Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) also reported one of its large informational signs was stolen from the boat launch site during this same period.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Michigan State Police at(906) 475-9922. The Dead River Campers Association, Inc. is offering a $1,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this arson and theft of property.
