UPDATE: Death of woman ruled ‘accidental’

The mystery surrounding the death of an Escanaba woman earlier this week is no more.

On Wednesday afternoon, Escanaba Public Safety was called to an apartment on the 800 block of 2nd Avenue North for a welfare check. After arriving on scene and gathering information, police forced entry into the apartment, where they found the body of 41–year–old Rebecca Bullard.

An autopsy performed on Bullard determined that she died of an ’emergent medical condition.’ Police have ruled her death as accidental.


 

ESCANABA — Escanaba Public Safety is currently investigating the death of a 41-year-old woman.

At approximately 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to an apartment on the 800 block of 2nd Avenue South for a welfare check. The individual living inside the apartment hadn’t been seen or heard from for several days.

After gathering information, police forced their way into the apartment, where they found the body of the deceased woman. Her name is not being released at this time.

The investigation into the woman’s death is ongoing. We will release more information as it becomes available.

Rampart EMS, the Delta County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Michigan State Police Crime Investigation Laboratories from Marquette and Grayling assisted Escanaba P.D. at the scene.
