Teenager in critical condition after police chase

Iron River — A teenager is listed in critical condition after he was involved in a brief car chase with police on Sunday.

According to the Iron River Police Department, officers tried to perform a traffic stop around one a.m., but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. A 19–year–old passenger exited the vehicle during the pursuit. Police then stopped to give the man medical assistance.

He was taken to the Aspirus Hospital and has since been transferred to U.P. Health System – Marquette where he is currently listed in critical condition. The case is still under investigation.
