Pictured Rocks Road Race is Sunday

The weather won’t stop the Pictured Rocks Road Race in Alger County Sunday.  Registration continues through race day.

Race participation supports the U.P. offices of the Alzheimer’s Association & several Meals on Wheels programs.  Several options are available for participants:

½ Marathon
Ridges, woods, waterfalls, streams, and lake views characterize this unique well-marked course. The route includes hilly paved roads and forested trails. Also included is a run up legendary “Stink Hill.”  This challenging course has motivated many runners to return year after year.
 
5K
The 5K course traverses a rolling, mostly paved route through downtown Munising and some residential areas. Runners will experience views of Lake Superior, Munising Harbor, and the Pictured Rocks Cruises boat dock as they move through Bay Shore Park.

Fun Walk
Walkers may choose all or part of either course. Walkers are asked to early enough to complete the walk before 11:00 a.m. (Most walkers cover 2 ½  to 3 ½  miles per hour.)

Pre-Race Dinner and Packet Pick Up is Saturday, June 22nd, 5-7 p.m. The race is  Sunday, June 23rd, with the Half Marathon beginning at 8 a.m., the  5k starting at 8:20 a.m.
