Peter White Public Library holds semi-annual book sale

If you are looking to expand your book collection, one Upper Peninsula library can help.

The Friends of the Peter White Public Library are hosting the semi annual used book sale this weekend. The items for sale have either been donated by the community or are no longer in circulation at the library.

“The Friends of the (Peter White Public) Library uses the money (from the sale) to grant money back to the library,” Peter White Public Library’s Development Director Heather Steltenpohl said. “Since 2007, the Friends have donated almost $60,000 back to the Peter White Public Library for programming and collection.”

The sale features everything from romance novels, to children’s books to VHS tapes.

“People all ages usually here in the area come to the sale,” Steltenpohl said. “We do have people that travel as far away as Wisconsin and Minnesota who know about our used book sales because they’re great sales and we always have great items, so we do get people from the region as well as local areas.”

Hours for the sale are: Friday 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 1:30-5 p.m. Sunday also features a bag sale, where patrons can fill a grocery bag full of books for $3.
