MARQUETTE — A pedestrian was injured in a personal injury accident in Marquette Wednesday night.

Officers from the Marquette City Police Department say they were dispatched to the vehicle/pedestrian accident located at the intersection of McClellan Avenue and US-41 at approximately 9:50 p.m. A 21-year-old Marquette woman was driving westbound on US-41 near the intersection when a 37-year-old Marquette man attempted to cross the highway southbound on foot. Police say the man ran into the path of the woman’s vehicle, striking the front end.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt, but the pedestrian was taken to U.P. Health System Marquette by EMS. The extent of his injuries are not known at this time. Police say the pedestrian was shown at fault for the accident and ticketed.

The Marquette City Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Marquette City Fire Department, Marquette City Department of Public Works, and Marquette General EMS.
