UPDATE: Missing U.P. teen found safe by authorities

UPDATE — Sunday, September 12 11:24 a.m.

The missing girl, identified as Kiya Williams, has been found safe and returned home. A post by her father on Facebook confirms the girl was returned home by authorities. “I wanted to update everyone and let you all know that my daughter Kiya Michelle Williams has been found safe and sound,” said Williams. “I would like to thank everyone who was involved and cared so much for us during this time and I want to give a very big thank you to the officer that brought my baby girl home we truly appreciate it. Much Love!”


ISHPEMING — An Upper Peninsula teenager is missing this morning. There is very little information at this time. If anyone sees her in Ishpeming, Negaunee or Marquette please contact her father Don Williams Jr. at (906) 458-8451.

She has been missing since Saturday afternoon. Authorities have been notified. Parents of the girl are asking the public’s assistance in locating her. An Amber Alert has not been issued. As of Sunday morning, Kiya has been missing for less than 24 hours.
