It was day two of the 30th annual emergency medical services conference.
More than 50 separate emergency topics are being covered throughout the four day event.
And one that hit’s especially close to home for Upper Michigan residents is rural ems.
Paramedics already have a tough job.
Everyday they are faced with providing advanced levels of medical care in a short amount of time.
Add to that…traveling long distances plus treacherous weather and terrain conditions– and you have what’s called rural emergency medical services.
Rural EMS agencies face many challenges.
And many communities are dependent upon volunteers.
Ems volunteers are in high demand in the u–p.
