Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a residential structure fire in Manistique.

Officers from the Manistique Public Safety Department say 36-year-old Karen Anne Macdonald and 18-year-old Christopher Krummich, both residents of the Manistique area, were taken into custody Wednesday after the investigation of a fire that occurred in the early morning of June 12th at 115 North Fourth Street. The fire, which was found to be suspicious in nature by Public Safety investigators, resulted in total destruction of the home.

Macdonald, the owner of the home, was charged with Arson of an Insured Dwelling and Conspiracy to Commit Arson of an Insured Dwelling. Both of these charges are felonies which carry penalties up to life in prison and extensive fines. Krummich was charged with the same two felony counts.

Bond has been set for both suspects at $250,000 cash or surety. The pair will have a preliminary hearing held in 93rd District Court on July 16.
