MARQUETTE — The Salvation Army and Thrivent Financial are looking for teams to bring their artistic abilities to the snow.
The 1st Annual Marquette Snow Sculpture Contest will be taking place at the Salvation Army in Marquette. The event takes place on the weekend of March 4th, and is open to all members of the community regardless of snow–sculpting experience.
There are 11 snow plots available and there are still openings for more teams.
“We came up with a series of events,” said Thrivent Financial Associate Andrew Rickauer, “that were community based. They’re free to participate. We’re not asking for donations, no fund–raisers, just out there to be part of the community and thank them for their support.”
There is no entry fee or grand prize for the event. Hot chocolate and a bake sale will be available inside the community room. If you are interested in signing up, call Thrivent Financial at 225–8001.
