Organ Donors on the Rise

THE STATE OF MICHIGAN HAS SEEN A MAJOR RISE IN ORGAN DONORS OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS.

THE UP–TICK IN DONORS HAS BEEN SINCE A NEW POLICY WAS IMPLEMENTED IN MAY.

THE POLICY REQUIRES EMPLOYEES TO ASK CUSTOMERS AT THE ECRETARY OF STATE OFFICES ABOUT BECOMING A DONOR.

WHILE SIGNING UP IS FREE AND TAKES JUST A MOMENT, THE NUMBER OF DONORS IN MICHIGAN IS STILL BELOW THE LEVELS EXPECTED OR DESIRED BY STATE AND HEALTH CARE OFFICIALS.

THE NUMBERS CRUNCH THIS WAY: ONE ORGAN DONOR CAN SAVE 8 LIVES AND CAN ENCHANCE UP TO 50 LIVES.

WHEN IT COMES TO DONORS NO ONE IS EXCLUDED.

EVEN AIDS PATIENTS CAN SIGN THE REGISTRY…THEIR ORGANS AND TISSUES WOULD BE USED TO HELP ANOTHER PERSON WITH THE DISEASE, NOT A NON–AIDS PATIENT.
