Organ Donation & Transplants Film Update

We have an update for you on a story we brought you earlier this week.

Bob Koehs of Marquette is alive today thanks to an organ donation.

In 2009, he was told he needed a double lung transplant because of pulmonary fibrosis.

Bob received the transplant that same year.

His donor was 21–year–old Chelsey Nielson of Elk River, Minnesota, who had died in a motorcycle accident.

Bob’s story is one of the segments of a PBS documentary film titled “Transplant: A Gift For Life”.

It’ll air on WNMU, Public TV 13, one month from today — Sunday, December 9th — at 4 pm.
