Operation Good Cheer for Foster Kids

The holiday season is a time for giving, and for the 40th straight year, children throughout Michigan will be receiving gifts through Operation Good Cheer.

Operation Good Cheer is a Christmas gift-giving program fueled by volunteers.

Child and Family Services of the U.P. executive director Norma Semashko says the program gives foster kids something special for Christmas — each child in the program creates a wish list that donors use to get gifts.

There are 21 foster kids that are being taken care of by Child and Family Services of the U.P. and over 4,500 in the state as a whole.
