Ontonagon Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle accident on private property in Ontonagon sent a man to the hospital Wednesday night.

State Police from the Wakefield Post say it happened at about 7:30 last night, although they would not say where the private property is.

A 71–year–old Ontonagon man was riding a motorcycle on a field behind his home.

His name is not being released.

The bike went airborne when he rode over a small incline, and he was thrown from the motorcycle.

The man was taken to Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood with possible head injuries.

He was later transferred to marquette general.

There’s no word on how he’s doing.

Police are still investigating.

They say high speed may have been a factor, and they say the man was not wearing a helmet.
