Ontonagon man accused of forgery facing new charges

New charges have been brought against an Ontonagon man accused of forgery.

Bruce Sever, 46, was arrested and arraigned last week in Delta County District Court on three charges larceny in a building, larceny by conversion, and false pretenses.

Those charges are unrelated to a separate case in which Sever accepted money for a Gladstone construction job he never finished.  In that case, Sever pled guilty to two charges: forgery, counterfeiting, or alteration of a financial transaction device and false pretenses, between $1,000-$20,000.  Sever was scheduled to be sentenced October 1 on those charges, but court staff say that date may change.

He will appear in court September 11 for a preliminary exam on his new charges.
