Ontonagon County Wolf Poaching

The DNR just sent a Green Bay man to jail for wolf poaching in Iron County.

Now they say they need help to catch another wolf poacher, this time in Ontonagon County.

They say the wolf was killed sometime between November 12th and the 16th.

Someone found its radio tracking collar in the Stony Creek area, east of the old White Pine Mine.

The federal government recently returned gray wolves to the endangered species list.

If you know anything about this, the DNR is asking you to call their toll-free poaching hotline at 1-800-292-7800, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service at 1-989-686-4578 or any DNR conservation officer.

You can give any information anonymously if you wish.

There’s also a cash reward for information that leads to a conviction.

That reward could be worth as much as $6,500.
