One injured in car-deer accident
A Mohawk man is recovering from injuries he suffered today in an early morning accident.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says 52-year-old Scott John Laurie was traveling south on US-41 by Lake Annie Road in Franklin Township when he swerved to miss a deer.
He subsequently left the roadway and rolled his vehicle.
The accident happened around 4:15am.
Laurie was taken by Mercy Ambulance to Portage Health for minor injuries.
