One sent to hospital after car leaves roadway

IRON MOUNTAIN — Just before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, The Iron Mountain Police was dispatched to a single vehicle person injury accident on US-2 near the Chapin Pit.

A 36-year-old male driver from Iron Mountain was traveling North when his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a tree after leaving the roadway. The Iron Mountain Police Department was assisted on scene by the Michigan State Police as well as Beacon Ambulance Service. The driver was transported to Dickinson County Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

At this time the incident remains under investigation.
