BESSEMER — One man has been arrested and another has been extradited back to the U.P. on several drug charges.
Ironwood Public Safety reports that Donald Kirby, 28, of Ironwood Township is back in the U.P. after being arrested in Wisconsin. Kirby faces several charges including possession of meth, heroin and prescription drugs. He is also charged with possession of controlled substances within 1,000 feet from a school and resisting and obstructing an officer. Kirby is currently housed in Gogebic County on a 10% of a $200,000 bond.
The Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team has arrested Alan Simmons, 29, of Ironwood Township on charges of delivery and manufacture of cocaine, heroin or other narcotics less than 50 grams. Additional charges may be added pending further investigation. Simmons is currently lodged at the Gogebic County Jail on a 10 percent of $10,000 bond.
