UPDATE: One dead, two severely injured in one-car accident

UPDATE — Thursday, July 14th, 2016 11:40 a.m. EDT

Authorities have released the name of the woman who died in a car accident Wednesday morning in Marinette County.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Department says 32 year-old Summer Powless of Green Bay, WI was identified as the deceased. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department and the coroner.

Several emergency personnel assisted at the scene. This is the fourth traffic fatality in Marinette County so far this year.


STEPHENSON, WISC. — One person is dead and two others were severely injured after a fatal car accident Wednesday morning in Marinette County.

Just after 6:00 a.m., Marinette County Deputies were dispatched to Airport Road about a car that impacted pine trees in the town of Stephenson, Wisconsin.

A 10–year–old girl was able to free herself and walk to a nearby residence to call for help. A 34-year-old Green Bay woman died as a result of the crash. A 7–year–old girl and a 6–year–old boy were airlifted to a Green Bay hospital for treatment.

The 10-year-old was treated and later released.

The crash is still under investigation.
