Oldtimers’ Hockey Tournament

If you’ve lived in the U.P. for any length of time, you know that hockey is a big part of the area’s winter culture.

And it’s not just for the young.

The Negaunee Senior Hockey League is ready to hit the ice for another season.

A faithful group of players just finished the registration for this season.

Tom Bleau, one of the players, says anyone 18 or older can join.

The group practices and plays games at the Negaunee Ice Arena and also competes in area tournaments.

One of those tournaments is just hours away in Marquette.

The 2nd annual Oldtimers’ Hockey Tournament is a four-day event that begins tomorrow.

It features 28 teams from throughout the Midwest and Canada.

The tournament starts tomorrow at 5pm at Lakeview Arena.
