EAST LANSING — Another trip to the Breslin Center was worth the long drive for North Central as the Jets won their second-straight Class D state title on Saturday, defeating Waterford Our Lady 59-48. The Lakes opened the game with a five-point lead, but two three-pointers from guard Dawson Bilski gave North Central the advantage. WOL tried to play ball-control in the second-quarter, but a walk-off three from forward Jason Whitens allowed the Jets to take a 27-19 halftime lead.

The third quarter saw North Central increase their lead to 18, but a strong run for WOL trimmed the deifict to just seven points going into the final frame. But the Jets would eventually hold on for the 11-point win. Whitens lead all scorers with 16 points while adding seven rebounds. Bilski finished the game with 15 points, including four three-pointers. Senior forward Troy Ekberg had 11 points and 7 rebounds
